An Art-Warming Affair

A million stars in the sky and thousands of glit­tering lights on the earth. That was the first impression that guests got when they Sharan Ap-parao's celebratory dinner. The ambience, of course, had a big part to play in the belief. Set amidst the thick foliage of the Lodhi Gardens, the Lodi restaurant was the venue where the art lovers of the Capital collected to raise a toast to artist Sanjeev Khandekar.

Khandekar, a petro-chemi-cal executive who leaves a parallel life as an artist, is show­casing his works in the Capital. "I am an artist who wants to por­tray the future in my works. The past as we had known it 15 to 20 years ago is dead, it is time now for a new start," he said.

The assembled guests could the white tables and rose be seen exchanging thoughts over a glass of bubbly. With the winter showing first signs of coming, beautiful shawls have started ap­pearing on the shoulders of the trendy. Bright colours in the various hues of yellows, reds and pinks seemed to be the choice of Delhi's movers and shakers. With the talks bordering on all things art, guests were seen dis­cussing nuances of its various forms. This con­tinued over din­ner, which was organised in the garden area of the restaurant. The inky blue sky contrasted beautifully with preparations kept on them. Those seen enjoying the deli­cious food included artist Naresh Kapuria who went around talking to the other guests including Harmeet Ba­jaj, danseuse Sharon Lowen, Aman Nath among others.

This continued over dinner, which was organised in the garden area of the restaurant. The inky blue sky contrasted beautifully with preparations kept on them. Those seen enjoying the delicious food included artist Naresh Kapuria who went around talking to the other guests including Harmeet Bajaj, danseuse Sharon Lowen, Aman Nath among others.
